CIEL BLEU DENTAL GROUP – CROSS INFECTION CONTROL POLICY (SUMMARY)

At Ciel Bleu Dental Group, protecting patients and staff from infections is a top priority. We follow strict cross infection prevention standards that align with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (MDPCZ) guidelines, the Health Professions Act, and global best practices.

Key Measures We Follow

1. Hand Hygiene

  • All staff wash and sanitize their hands before and after treating each patient.
  • Alcohol-based sanitizers are available throughout the clinic for staff and patients.

2. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Dentists and assistants always wear gloves, masks, protective eyewear, and gowns during procedures.
  • PPE is changed between patients to avoid cross contamination.

3. Instrument Sterilisation

  • All dental instruments are thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilised in autoclaves.
  • Single-use items (needles, suction tips, gloves) are discarded immediately after use.

4. Environmental Cleaning

  • Dental chairs, lights, and work surfaces are disinfected between patients.
  • Floors and common areas are cleaned regularly using medical-grade disinfectants.

5. Waste Management

  • Sharps are placed in puncture-proof containers.
  • Infectious waste is separated and disposed of according to Ministry of Health and local council regulations.

6. Patient Safety Protocols

  • Patients with communicable conditions are managed with enhanced precautions.
  • Screening questions and temperature checks may be used when needed (e.g., during outbreaks).

7. Staff Training & Compliance

  • All team members receive regular training on infection control.
  • Policies are reviewed annually or when new health regulations are introduced.

Our Commitment

By following these steps, we ensure a safe and hygienic environment for everyone who visits any of our practices.
